Supportive Housing Programs
Gateway's housing programs are designed to provide individuals in the Niagara Region suffering from mental illness with a safe and affordable place for recovery.
Gateway operates one residential group home in the city of Welland. This residence has a capacity to accommodate 7 tenants.
This residence is staffed by one full time support worker, and several part-time staffers, who provide 11 hours of support daily. We provide a combination of affordable housing and ongoing flexible housing supports for persons with serious mental health issues who are either homeless or are at great risk of becoming homeless.
Gateway has a total of 110 housing units that it owns or holds head leases with private market landlords and non-profit housing providers. As well we provide Property Managements services to the Oak Center and Canal View Homes.
All of our housing units are affordable to tenants and inclusive of all utilities. Ongoing support services are provided to consumers in this program which include; case management, life skills training, supports with daily living, linkages to other agencies and the local community, consultation, and outreach services.
Gateway owns and operates four buildings in the cities of Welland (31 units), St Catharines (9 units) and Port Colborne (23 units). >> Learn More
Housing First Program
Housing First Program is a recovery-orientated approach to end homelessness that centers on quickly moving people experiencing homelessness into independent and permanent housing and then providing additional supports and services as needed.
